Prior to joining Drewry in 2005, Philip worked for CMA CGM and the container shipping consortium Cobra in various management and financial control roles until 1990. He then spent the 1990s analysing the logistics policies of exporters/importers and of logistics service providers when working with American Shipper and Containerisation International. Jim Newsome is the President and CEO of the South Carolina Ports Authority in Charleston, SC. He assumed that role on September 1, 2009 and is only the fifth leader in the history of the port. Peter Tirschwell is senior director of content at Maritime & Trade, IHS Markit, publisher of The Journal of Commerce, JOC.com, IHS Fairplay, Dredging & Port Construction, Safety at Sea, PIERS maritime trade data, and JOC events such as TPM. In his expanded role within IHS Markit, he is responsible for all editorial content appearing in IHS Maritime & Trade media and events. A career transportation journalist, Tirschwell has been a reporter, West Coast bureau chief, editor-in-chief, and publisher of The Journal of Commerce in his 20-plus-year career with the company, which began in 1992. He is the founder and chairman of the annual TPM Conference in Long Beach, California, one of the world's largest shipping events, and led the development of the JOC Port Productivity project, the first global database of port performance. He writes a regular column in The Journal of Commerce.
Thilo joined Hapag-Lloyd as a trainee in 1990. In 1993 he obtained his degree in shipping and business administration. From 1995 through 2009 Thilo held a variety of leadership positions at Hapag-Lloyd in New Jersey, Singapore, Genoa and Tampa. Returning to Hamburg in 2009, he set up the Hapag-Lloyd Yield Management group which he lead until 2013. Since then he is heading the Transatlantic Trade Management team, being responsible for the entire Hapag-Lloyd Transatlantic service portfolio. If you address him with "tea-low", this will sound very similar to how his name is pronounced in German.
Michael Wax is Co-Founder and CCO of FreightHub, a fully digital asset-free freight service provider located in Berlin (HQ), Hamburg, and Hong Kong. He is responsible for the commercial strategy, sales, and the global partnership network for the company's logistic operations.
Before FreightHub, he co-founded Konux, a US-based double-digit million funded startup (NEA, Andy Bechtolsheim) offering holistic IoT solutions based on smart sensor networks. Michael previously worked at BMW and Bain & Company, and holds a master's degree (M.Sc.) in industrial engineering from Technical University of Munich.
Peter Webber has been a director of Container Trades Statistics Ltd since the company started in 2008 following the demise of liner conferences in Europe. On graduating from University College London, he worked in the Economics and Finance Division of the Far Eastern Freight Conference.
In 1985 he joined the European South Pacific & Magellan Conference (ESPMC). This later merged with the Association of West India Trans-Atlantic Steam Ship Lines (WITASS) and he became manager of the ESPMC/WITASS Joint Secretariat in 1994. He was also secretary of the New Caribbean Service Rate Agreement (NCSRA) and the Europe East Coast South America Conference (EECSAC).
In 2002 he joined Conference Administration Services Ltd as Company Secretary and managed the Europe Mediterranean Trade Agreement (EMTA) and the Mediterranean East Coast South America Conference (MEDSAM).

• After serving as Head of Legal Affairs for AWVN (from 2002) he joined Heineken International in 2009 at their Amsterdam Head Office where he was responsible for all labour related matters of HQ, for international labour relations and for the management of the relationship with the Heineken European Works Council. He also overlooked the global Heineken Employees & Human Rights Policy.
• In 2014 he joined Maersk Group and APM Terminals (on a 50/50 basis) as Head of Global Labour Relations, responsible for Maersk's labour relations vision, strategy and policies.
• In the beginning of 2017 appointed as Head of Global Labour Relations for Maersk Transport & Logistics (Maersk Line, APM Terminals, DAMCO, SVITZER, Maersk Container Industry).

Frederik Wexel is Director of MSC Austria, providing inter-modal and deep-sea solutions for cargo moving between Austria and anywhere in the world.
Originally from western Germany, Frederik moved to Hamburg and from a young age became fascinated by globalization, viewed through the lens of the city's port. He simultaneously studied Business Administration at university and worked as a shipping merchant apprentice for DSR-Senator Line in Bremen, before joining MSC in 2009.
Frederik worked in MSC Germany's Export Far East, Middle East and Indian sub-continent department in Hamburg, before switching to MSC Austria and ascending to the top job in the country in 2015.
Based in Vienna, Frederik oversees 55 people in two offices, which together form the biggest representation of any international shipping line in Austria.
Joachim Wuest joined the DHL family beginning of 2000 as part of the Automotive Competence Center Germany; at this time part of the AEI organization that was just acquired by Danzas.
After managing this team for some years, he joined the Marketing & Sales organization of DHL Global Forwarding as Business Development Manager Automotive focusing on the OEM's as well as 1st Tier suppliers headquartered in Germany.
Since 2013 Joachim is Head of the Automotive Sales Team of DHL Global Forwarding, Germany and also signs responsible for the German Automotive Competence Center as part of the Global Automotive Competence Center setup.
Sales and Marketing manager of the container terminal of the Port of Trieste, with 17 years' experience in the maritime and intermodal sector.
After a short experience at the Harbour Master of Trieste, he worked both in Trieste and Rotterdam as a commercial coordinator of the North Continent Agency Network of one of the worldwide first ranking Shipping Line.
Ten years ago he moved back to Trieste as sales and marketing director of the container terminal of Trieste and he is today also in charge for the development of the intermodal network of the container terminal, with particular focus on the rail links between Trieste and the Central/Eastern European Countries.
Martijn started his carrier some 20 years ago at Damco Maritime. Over the years he worked in various functions for forwarders(Emery Worldwide, Fritz Companies, Logfret ao.) as well as big Dutch NVOCC's with specialization on FCL's on the Trans Atlantic trade. Martijn has therefor well developed knowledge and experience on the North-American and it's rules and regulations. Started in the documentation department and worked up his way up and today Martijn is the Procurement Manager for FPS Famous Pacific Shipping Rotterdam where he started working September first of this year. FPS Famous Pacific Shipping is one of the leading NVOCC (Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier) in The Netherlands and has an expertise in the complete range of consolidation services for LCL cargoes worldwide ( Import & Export ).
