What Works: Creating Data Transparency and Visibility in the Project Supply Chain

Tuesday, 26 April

4:25 pm - 4:55 pm (PST) / 26/apr/2022 09:25 pm - 26/apr/2022 09:55 pm
Cargo and supply chain visibility became all the rage during the pandemic, a sign that shippers felt they had lost control during the prolonged upheaval. In project supply chains, however, this lack of visibility and real-time information is familiar territory and often the norm. Most of the cargo visibility platforms in the shipping market are geared for container shipping and not fit for purpose when it comes to the complexities of breakbulk and project cargo movement. Additionally, increasingly stringent standards for emissions reporting and control are influencing logistics planning and carriers' fleet-related decisions. This session will explore two approaches to creating visibility in different areas of the breakbulk supply chain, focusing on systems and initiatives that drive accountability and actionability. Seeing and defining disruption isn’t enough in this tumultuous market; greater visibility has to be a catalyst to action.
