Getting goods from ports and warehouses to inland distribution centers is increasingly difficult, with obstacles both on the intermodal rail side and over the road. A lack of accurate data at several freight transfer points remains a major obstacle to making the best decisions about how to move freight inland to customers. Too much freight still “goes wild” and untracked at some point in transit. How can we optimize the outbound flow of freight from ports to inland destinations?
