TPM Tech: Who's Responsible for “Pulling Everything Together” in Global Logistics?

It’s theoretically easier than ever to connect systems and data that empower logistics decisions. A flood of solutions that emerged over the past decade — as freight and supply chain worked their way into the public consciousness — seemed to provide shippers, 3PLs, carriers, airlines, ports, and terminal operators with a range of options beyond their wildest dreams. But having so many options can be complicated. Making systems and data talk effectively to one another is still difficult, and all users typically want is a way to help make more informed decisions, and to make those decisions quicker. One overarching issue framing this range of options is just who is responsible for pulling it all together? Is it the software vendor, the logistics services provider, or the shipper themselves? Or some combination? This session will provide practical perspective on this key question as shippers wrestle with some tough technology investment and adoption decisions over the next few years.
