TPM24 Academy: Managing Dangerous Goods Shipments

An oft-overlooked category of both domestic and international shipping is regulatory requirements that govern the movement of Dangerous Goods — also known as hazardous materials, or “hazmat.” Whether it’s transporting chemicals via ISO tank, using temperature-controlled containers for volatile materials or the shipment of lithium-ion batteries, compliance with product-specific shipping requirements is critical for shippers to build and maintain reliable hazmat supply chains. This TPM Academy module will introduce key elements of hazmat shipping in containerized shipping, including packing and labeling, documentation requirements, and the contracting of highly specialized transportation services such as drayage, ocean freight, and intermodal moves.
