Ken O'Brien

President and CEO

Ken joined Gemini in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer and became President and CEO in 2019. Ken is the founding President of Bluspark, an analytics consulting and SaaS firm that provides companies with innovative ways to leverage their data assets to improve performance. Together with Gemini, Bluspark was a co-founding partner of Greenabl in 2023. Before founding Bluspark, Ken spent twenty-one years in the liner shipping industry with APL and Hapag Lloyd, where he held various senior Trade Management and Operations roles. Ken received his Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Administration from Texas A&M and has a Master of Science degree in Business Analytics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, as well as a Masters's Degree in Homeland and Cyber Security from Farleigh Dickinson University. Ken serves as Vice Chair of the FMC’s National Shippers Advisory Council.

    TPM25 Case Study: Leveraging Carbon Footprint Data to Make Better Decisions

    This case study will review the journey of furniture maker Lovesac in leveraging supply chain emissions data and incorporating it in tangible and measurable ways into its supply chain planning process. The panel will explore how operational container data was turned into emission tracking and measurement via the Greenabl platform and then integrated with Lovesac’s 3PL, Allport Cargo Services, via the Infor Nexus platform. The panel will discuss how BCOs can leverage such data for operational, procurement, and KPI reporting to drive network sustainability improvements.
