Mason George is the President of National Accounts at IMC Companies, the largest marine drayage provider in the United States. Mason’s transformative leadership in account management was key to IMC Companies more than doubling in size. His focus on improving fluidity and easing bottlenecks in the supply chain for beneficial cargo owners (BCOs), terminals and drivers has led IMC in creating and implementing cutting-edge programs such as SmartStacks® and expedited rail that drive growth through new ideas.

In 2021, Mason was awarded Inside Memphis Business’ Innovation Award. He is the author of the “Solving the Supply Chain Bottleneck with Peel Piles” white paper at peelpile.com. Mason is frequently featured in the media regarding news related to logistics and transportation. Most recently, Mason spoke with the Journal of Commerce and on the What the Truck podcast about the importance of collaboration in the industry and was named one of Commercial Carrier Journal’s “Innovators” for creating innovative ways to overcome the trucking industry’s challenges.

    Optimizing Inland Freight Flow

    Getting goods from ports and warehouses to inland distribution centers is increasingly difficult, with obstacles both on the intermodal rail side and over the road. A lack of accurate data at several freight transfer points remains a major obstacle to making the best decisions about how to move freight inland to customers. Too much freight still “goes wild” and untracked at some point in transit. How can we optimize the outbound flow of freight from ports to inland destinations? This panel of experts will look at the decisions, processes, and technology necessary to support optimizing inland freight flow.
