TPM Tech: A Primer on AI in Logistics

AI is everywhere these days, which creates a bit of a problem for the logistics industry. Separating reality from hype and the pragmatic from the abstract is a challenge both for buyers and sellers of technology. To be clear, AI already is making a huge impact in the world of international logistics and transportation. But it can be difficult to understand where AI is being used, to delineate artificial intelligence from automation, and, more simply, whether it’s even important to know if AI is being used at all. To help bring this massive subject down to earth, five experts will explain specific use cases or processes where AI is being used in international logistics today. The panelists represent a mix of software vendors and 3PLs and the session will use a fast-moving format: each speaker will have seven minutes to describe a process in which AI is being used to drive efficiency, accuracy, speed, or cost reduction. The idea is to give attendees a window into where AI is making a tangible impact in their industry.
