TPM25 Case Study: Leveraging Next Generation Technology to Drive Supply Chain Resiliency

The disruption era is here to stay. Technology (AI, even GenAI) and more data than ever enhances the ability for BCOs and carriers to collaborate and keep their supply chains resilient. In this TPM25 Case Study, McKinsey will present its latest research on trends and opportunities of these advances with Dell and DB Schenker discussing how they are embracing these developments, including in collaboration. In the process, it will address the following questions:

    • How will new capabilities/technology be used to improve overall supply chain performance?

    • How will technology and improved supply chain capabilities enable BCOs to receive better service from carriers, for example by improving demand sensing to provide more accurate forecasts to carriers and improve contract compliance?

    • How can carriers provide better service (such as turn times, reduced demurrage/detention) because of technology?

    • What KPIs should be used to measure impact to ensure continuous performance improvement?
