Ms. Buckley has 26 years of experience in the hazardous materials industry. She founded STARS Hazmat Consulting, a company she has owned and managed for 12 years. STARS assists companies dealing with hazardous materials by managing risk, compliance, and safety to protect people, property, and profit. Its clients are shippers, carriers, warehouses, transloaders, 3PLs, and other industry stakeholders. Wendy is a veteran firefighter with 10 years of experience performing hazmat emergency response. She is a former DOT HazMat inspector for both the federal government and the State of New Jersey, responsible for enforcing hazmat transportation regulations. Wendy has managed regulatory affairs for a global laboratory supply company and provided training to thousands of students on transportation regulations for US, Canada, international air, and international vessel transportation, as well as OSHA hazard communications, and EPA hazardous waste regulations. She has authored a book on the subject, “Hazardous Materials Transportation, A Guide to Success for EHS Students and Professionals”. Wendy was a professor of HazMat Transportation at the University of Findlay and will soon be teaching HazMat Emergency Response Management to fire departments around the country for the University of Texas at Arlington. Well-recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), Wendy is a frequent contributor to the New York Times and other journals, a speaker at many industry events throughout North America, and a recurring monthly guest on Sirius XM Radio. She has also received dozens of Honors and Awards, including The 10 Most Successful Business Women to Watch in 2022, The 20 Most Inspiring Women Leaders of 2022, and The Women In Trucking Top Woman-Owned Business for 2023.
