Fireside Chat: Compliance, Sanctions and a Changing World Order

Recent geopolitical events have ushered in a new era of economic nationalism and security concerns. Government regulators around the world have had to adjust their trade priorities, greatly transforming global trade as we know it. From economic sanctions to export controls, investment restrictions and trade wars, project and breakbulk shippers and their logistics service providers require a sophisticated understanding of regulatory requirements and business-related risks to flourish despite this ever-changing political and economic reality. In this fireside chat, Kathy Canaan, global director of trade compliance at Fluor, will join Olga Torres, managing member at Torres Trade Law, to discuss strategies for managing risk and seizing opportunities in this challenging environment for members of the breakbulk logistics industry.
