With a decade at Grainger, a leading maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) distributor, he has 18 years of progressive transportation industry experience; Derek has cultivated a reputation as an accomplished Senior Manager of transportation procurement. His extensive background includes roles in LTL operations, sales, and procurement, with his current responsibility encompassing carrier relationships in less-than-truckload, intermodal truckload, and final mile couriers.

A demonstrated leader with shipper and carrier industry experience, Derek leads Grainger's non-parcel procurement strategy across an expansive carrier portfolio of over 180 carriers. His relationship-centric approach, coupled with a foundation in transportation operations excellence, has fostered synergy across carrier partnerships. Since joining Grainger Transportation in 2017, he has driven substantial service and cost savings improvement through carrier optimization efforts.

Derek holds a BBA from The University of West Georgia. As a volunteer football coach, he is actively involved in his community and enjoys spending time on the water with his wife and three children. He is also a proud Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) member.
