Tim Erion is Sr Vice President of Operations with FlexiVan Leasing, LLC (FlexiVan). He is responsible for fleet operations, technical services, business analytics, and premium operations. Tim brings over 15 years of experience in business analytics, logistics, technology, and supply chain management. He joined the intermodal chassis leasing space with start-up chassis provider American Intermodal Management (AIM) in 2016 and led the business integration of the AIM/FlexiVan merger. Prior to joining AIM, he served in various management roles with APL (American President Lines) in the US and Singapore. Tim is a dual American/Canadian citizen and holds a holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

    Waiting on the Rebound: Will There Be Enough Chassis to Go Around?

    It’s the critical piece of equipment for that final mile: the chassis. No container goes on the road without one. That became very clear in the COVID-related boom in freight demand in 2020-2022 when there were chronic shortages of available chassis across major inland hubs. Now that the supply-and-demand curve is balanced, chassis providers are trying to learn from what happened and be better prepared for the rebound. In this session, we will explore those lessons learned and how three chassis lessors will apply that knowledge going forward.
