Vice President-Pricing

Gary Ahlstrom is currently Vice President Pricing for STG Logistics. During his 30 years of experience in the intermodal industry he has worked in Dispatch, Customer Service, Logistics, and Network with RailVan, Pacer Global Logistics, and XPO Intermodal. He began his college career at Virginia Tech, and graduated from The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years post-graduate work in Classical Literature and Languages. He spent a short time in the restaurant industry before finding his home in intermodal transportation.

When not working, Gary enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and birding, and is an accomplished cook and avid reader.

What is the pricing outlook for bids going live in the first quarter of 2025? After two years of rate reductions, will carriers have the upper hand to get a rate increase in 2025?
