As pressure on supply chains tightens capacity and narrows transportation options, US importers and shippers are becoming savvier when it comes to finding space in truckload or less-than-truckload trailers. With freight demand expected to remain strong throughout 2022, shippers are competing for trailer space, and pre-pandemic strategies won’t work. Freight needs to fit motor carrier networks and maximize the utilization of equipment and drivers.
